Pilates has helped me live a pain free life, and develop a stronger, happier body. I originally found Pilates seeking relief from chronic pain from an old injury. I am inspired to share this rehabilitative practice with others who use their bodies for work, play, and for those who seek to age gracefully by maintaining strength and flexibility of the spine.
My teachings focus on precise spinal alignment during movement and on ergonomics for students to apply during daily life. I also incorporate the Pilates principles including concentration, harmony and awareness to further the mind-body connection.
When I'm not teaching Pilates, I am a commercial fisher in Alaska. There I am grateful to be able to use my Pilates training for the physical labor of harvesting salmon.
